Ella Gladys Williams, 83, of Galax, Va., passed away Feb. 18, 2023. She was born on May 24, 1939, in Alleghany County, N.C., to the late Richard Alonzo and Ida Cecil Lowe Williams. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, a brother and sister-in-law, infant twins and a grandson.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Debbie and Junior Goad
of Woodlawn, Va., James and Carolyn Burris of Woodlawn, Va., Joey and Gin Burris of Hillsville, Va., Judy and Paul Porter of Fries, Va., Janet Smith of Ivanhoe, Va., June Suits of Galax, Va., and Jill and Jamey Davis of Wytheville, Va.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Feb. 23, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Glade Creek Union Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
