Mildred Isom Nelson, 88, of Woodlawn, Va., passed away Feb. 16, 2023. She was born in Fries, Va., on Jan. 7, 1935, to John and Blanch Whitter Isom.
She is survived by her husband, James Nelson of Woodlawn, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Suzanne Nelson of Stafford, Va.; sister, Nellie A. Jennings of Wytheville, Va.; brother, Delmer Isom of Galax, Va.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Feb. 19, 2023, in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ronald Bowman and Pastor Jerry Nester officiating. Burial followed in the Nelson Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
