Fries Fire & Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash May 7 at 1:23 p.m., where two patients were trapped.

According to a report from the department, crews pulled water lines and stabilized the vehicle with cribbing, then utilized spreaders and cutters to remove the driver’s side door of the car to make access to the driver. Firefighters were able to remove the backseat passenger through the back door.

Two patients were transported to the hospital with the help of Galax-Grayson EMS.

Fries Fire & Rescue thanked EMS and Galax Volunteer Fire Department for their aid.
